Results:
In the sweltering late summer heat, with a limited timeframe, budget, resources, and staff, Catharsis managed to pull off an amazing event the likes of which the City of New York had never seen to date, but had always dreamed of. With 16 teams consisting of up to 25 players each, the competition became fiercely heated as each team played the 3 other teams in their Grouping on the first day, to a crowd of over 4,000 fans, players, and passerbys during the course of the day in the beautiful and spacious Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens.
The next weekend, the final four teams brought their local fans and supporters in full force, beating drums, chanting, and waving their national flags proudly as their teams battled for the final two spots.
